Putney Town Centre Manager Stephen Wallace on newcomers to the area
The recent arrival of a spate of new retailers such as Topshop, Topman, Mountain Warehouse and planned for October, TK Maxx in the High Street is having a significant effect in driving footfall to the town and, refreshingly, making it something of a destination for fashion shoppers.
Secondary areas, such as the Upper and Lower Richmond Roads, have also enjoyed a number of new openings, including a major new showroom for Kitchen Architecture and Bulthaup in the Lower Richmond Road, and in the Upper Richmond Road a new Sainsbury's Local and retention of the newly refitted Allied carpets store, as one of the 50+ branches bought back from administrators by a former director (out of 300+ branches).
Why not check out some of the smaller new arrivals too? Here's a brief list...
Upper Richmond Road : Crimson House (gifts), Rooms of London (furnishing), Lanna Spa (health spa), Thompson & Jones (dry cleaners) HQ Beauty, TJ's (fish & chips), Valentina Fine Foods (by E Putney tube, deli/cafe/restaurant)
Lower Richmond Road : Stage Music (prof. drum kits), Kitchen Architecture (Bulthaup kitchen design/install)
Elsewhere : Room Refurbishment Company (Princeton Ct), Rock n' Roe (Putney Bridge Rd, fish & chips)
Trade in the town is proving resilient when compared to other areas, but local shops still need YOUR support – by spending locally - to survive and thrive in the coming months.
Putney provides an encouraging and enjoyable environment for any business looking to grow within a town easily accessed by public transport.
