TEAM UPDATE:
You will have noticed from the above Team Member details that there has been a change to Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood Team.
PCSO Allan Gill, who spent almost two years on Fairfield SNT, has now left to start his training at Hendon to become a Police Officer. We wish him the very best of luck for the future and every success in his career.
Allan has been replaced by PCSO Daniel Taylor, an experienced and enthusiastic Community Support Officer. Daniel is a welcome addition to Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood Team.
OUR PURPOSE:
Our aim as a Safer Neighbourhood Team is to address non-emergency, local issues that affect the quality of live of our residents.
We achieve our aim by patrolling the area shown on the Fairfield Map and engaging with the community. This provides a visible Police presence and enables members of the Metropolitan Police Service to be much more approachable.
Fairfield Safer Neighbourhood Team currently has two Ward Priorities that we continue to work on in our endeavour to enhance the quality of life for all who live and work in Fairfield Ward.
WARD PRIORITIES:
The Team are ever focused on delivering a high quality level of local policing in Fairfield Ward. Our Ward priorities are:
1) Residential Burglaries
2) Theft From Motor Vehicles
OPERATIONAL NEWS:
1) Residential Burglaries
2) Theft From Motor Vehicles
OPERATIONAL NEWS: 1) Motor Vehicle Crime: As I am sure you are aware, Motor Vehicle Crime continues to be a problem, not only on a local level, but also nationally. In the Borough of Wandsworth theft from motor vehicles, and theft of motor vehicles has recently experienced a disappointing increase. We have therefore been targeting specific areas with high visibility patrols of the Tonsleys, Harbut Road, St Johns Hill Grove, Nantes Close, St Ann’s Hill, St Ann’s Crescent and the roads surrounding that area. We have also been continuing to advise local residents not to leave satellite navigation systems or their cradles on display, and to make sure that no valuables are left in their vehicles. Another option to consider is leaving glove boxes empty and open. ANY suspicious person(s) seen in the area should be reported to Police immediately. 2) Burglaries: On a very positive note, Fairfield Ward has had a noticeable decline of burglaries to residential proprieties in comparison with figures for this time last year. We attribute this in part to the amount of work Wandsworth Borough Police has put in to tackling burglary. Recent successes include PCSO Lynch and PCSO Collins detaining a male in Garrick Close who was wanted for various criminal offences, including burglary. We will continue as ever to patrol identified crime hotspots and arrest offenders wherever possible. |
CRIME PREVENTION: Vehicle Crime - Useful Crime Prevention Advice.. NEVER leave anything on display in your motor vehicle such as Sat Navs (including its bracket) personal documents, loose change, mobile phones, laptops or other valuables.
