Man Rescued From Roehampton Fire


A woman was also treated for smoke inhalation

At 7.20 this morning (December 5th) four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a fire in a flat on Upper Richmond Road in Roehampton, SW15.

Around half of a second floor flat was damaged by fire. Using a ladder, firefighters rescued a man from the flat. A woman escaped before crews arrived on the scene and both people were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.

The fire was under control by 8.02am. the four teams came from Croydon, Hammersmith, Wimbledon and Richmond fire stations attended the incident.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
