Jemma is the director of Harley Health Clinics, a cosmetic surgery clinic based in Welbeck Street, London. She told PutneySW15:

We see so many patients that have undergone various forms of treatments and find themselves unhappy with the way they look. With this in mind I would like to help. The main reason I am doing this is because I have lost so many close friends and relatives through Cancer and within the past 3 months 2 people I knew died and also another friend is currently in a hospice with not very long to live. "
Jemma continued:
" I used to work for a company called Naturaleve Organic Beauty and we used to provide a local Macmillan Workshop in Watford with skincare products to the ladies who had been effected by cancer. Some patients find that after chemo that their skin becomes sore and do not want to use creams that contain preservatives etc so an organic version was always nice for them. Seeing this workshop makes you realise what the Macmillan nurses actually do, how small significant things to me and you are so important to people that are effected, little things like using a mascara. The nurses are so kind, thoughtful and also so strong and it is for them that I would like to pledge my support. I would like to show my support and help raise money to help fund new ways of preventing cancer."

The number of people with cancer is growing every day. We want to reach and improve the lives of every one of those people. £10 could pay for 20 copies of The cancer guide. This Macmillan booklet can help somebody recently diagnosed with cancer, and their families, to understand cancer, its treatment and the help available. £68 could run a typical small Macmillan Information and Support Centre for an hour. £100 could enable the Macmillan Benefits Helpline to help people affected by cancer to claim £2,691 in benefits to which they are entitled. £156 could run our Cancer line for an hour providing, on average, 13 people affected by cancer with essential information and support. In peak hours the Cancer line receives, on average, 76 calls per hour. £918 could fund a Macmillan Nurse for a working week.
