Would you like to make a difference and learn some new skills?
People are always curious about first aid training and often leap at the chance to renew their skills. But what about mental health first aid? We all know someone who is suffering from stress or anxiety as a result of various circumstances in life. And often we don’t know how best to help.
Now is your chance to get some professional mental health first aid training and volunteer at Putney library for a new community based scheme. Putney Wellbeing Friends (a Public Health funded community initiative) will be based at Putney library on Wednesday evenings 6pm -8pm to give advice on self-help therapies for those suffering stress, depression or just need a listening ear.
Sometimes just a kind word and a little empathy can make all the difference to someone who is feeling low. Maybe you could spare a couple of Wednesday evenings every other month?
For an application form email: Putney.library@gll.org
Applications need to be made by 9 October. Interviews will take place at Putney library in the week of 19 October. Two day training will take place at the end of November (dates tbc).
