In this month’s Update:
1. Putney Christmas Lights and Market Fri 2 nd Dec, 3 - 7.45pm – would you like a stall?
Companies interested in sponsoring the event are invited to contact me asap. Many thanks to those that have already offered support.
Market A reminder to please let me know immediately if you’d like to book a stall for this year’s Putney Christmas Lights and Market event on 2 nd Dec. This is a great opportunity to put your shop/brand into the community at Christmas. Putney retailers get stalls at a specially reduced rate. Price per stall is £85 (to help cover costs), as opposed to around £130 for external companies; both are subsidised. Stalls basically a trestle-table under open-sided gazebo with festive lights (stall payment will be required in advance). Please call me if interested.
Event: Putney will be a fantastic place to visit on 2nd December. This is a great opportunity for families, visitors and residents to have a great time with live music, Santa, bouncy castle, carousel car-ride, brilliant entertainment for children, a large market, an enormous Christmas tree, Christmas Lantern Procession by schools through the town, craft workshop, Christmas carols and festive lights switch-on. Make a note in your diary – and bring your friends and family for a great time! Last year was a huge success.
2. ‘Putney Retail & Business’ meeting – inc. impact of the Olympics on Putney Deliveries & Staff travel - Tues 8 th November St Marys Church (by the Odeon/bridge) 5.45pm registration for 6.15pm start
This meeting is particularly important, as it will include speakers from TfL, who will explain the impact of the Olympic Route Network (which comes through Wandsworth, up West Hill to Tibbets Corner and on to Wimbledon) and the Olympic Cycle race on Putney deliveries and staff travel to Putney. You need to be aware of these changes, as they WILL affect your business operations for several weeks next year, so attending this session will enable you to minimise any impact.
Our speakers include Midge McCall TfL Games Communication & Engagement Manager, and David Silvey, TfL Road Freight Interface Manager. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and get further information.
‘Putney Retail and Business’ events are free and open to all Putney businesses to attend , with refreshments/wine and nibbles to make it a relaxing evening. They include a Putney Town Centre update and are a great way to get to know what’s going on and others in Putney. Why not come along at 5.45pm so you get a chance to network with other managers, the meeting starts at 6.15pm.
