RSPCA and Police rescue it a long way from the river
Police and RSPCA were called out to West London on Friday (15 February) to rescue a swan that was lost in West Putney. It was seen walking along the pavement of Howard's Lane and was eventually caught near St Simon's Church on Hazlewell Road.
The RSPCA have informed this website that: "The swan had crash landed - which does happen sometimes - and was a bit dazed.
Swan Support were also there and checked the swan over and found the swan to be okay so the swan was released straight away."
The advice from the police is that if you see an injured swan then contact the RSPCA. Do not approach as swans can attack and you may injure yourself or further distress/injure the bird.
