Charity highlighting the success story of Emma who thrived in its care
Appeal aims to fund supportive homes for children in care
November 21, 2023
Putney-based charity the St Christopher’s Fellowship has launched its Christmas fundraising appeal for this year.
It aims to create brighter futures for children and young people by providing fostering, residential homes and support services where they can feel safe and cared for. The money raised will help young people in care unlock their potential.
This year’s appeal highlights the story of Emma, a young girl who came into the care of St Christopher’s and with its support has ultimately flourished - going on to succeed academically and secure a job with a bright future ahead.
The charity says that Emma’s story is a great example of how the team around her helped her to thrive. It created a space for Emma to overcome challenges and unlock her potential. Her story highlights the difference St Christopher's can make to young lives, helping them to reach their potential, when given the right opportunities.
The charity, which has been supporting children and young people since 1870, promotes lifelong learning and thriving for all those in their care.
Jonathan Whalley, Chief Executive of St Christopher’s, said, “I’m thrilled to be able to launch this year’s Christmas Appeal to support young people to thrive, especially in these difficult times.”
The charity is suggesting a donation of £35 t to help St Christopher’s give more children and young people like Emma a safe and happy home where they can unlock their potential and build a brighter future.
