Sainsbury’s Putney Refurbishment Complete

Some internal changes still to come

Main refurbishment works at the Sainsbury's store in Putney, begun nearly a month ago, have now been completed. Some minor internal works will be undertaken in the coming week, however Sainsbury's say that these are primarily to colleague areas and should not be noticeable to customers.

The refurbishment involved redecorating the store, and fitting it with new branding, reconfigured checkouts and improved refrigeration units.

In a press release published yesterday, representatives from the supermarket claimed that the Putney store "will continue to play an active role in the local community". This year, the store has raised over £2,500 for Sports Relief through flash mobs, family fun days at the local Church and other fundraising activities. In addition, through its Active Kids programme, the supermarket giant has donated £789,556 worth of equipment and experiences to nurseries, sports clubs, schools and Scout and Guide groups in Wandsworth since 2005.

Sainsbury’s Project Manager, Chuks Nwabineli said: “We would like to thank the local community for their patience and support throughout the refurbishment works and look forward to welcoming our customers to the improved store.”
