Part of the Roehampton Challenge scheme
Qualified Play Rangers will be helping to keep Roehampton youngsters entertained throughout the holidays as part of a new council scheme.
The new Play Rangers scheme is being jointly launched this week by the council's play services and public health teams, as part of the Roehampton Challenge.
The Roehampton Challenge is all about giving Roehampton residents access to health support services, community schemes or activity sessions and more. For details visit www.wandsworth.gov.uk/roehamptonchallenge.
During the summer holidays qualified Play Rangers will be running activities on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:30am to 12:30pm and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:30pm to 3.30pm.
The scheme will also continue after school and at weekends in September.
Activities will include games, arts and crafts, but the children attending will be able to decide what they do. The scheme will be based at the Alton One O'clock Centre in Fontley Way, but the Play Rangers and children may also decide to go to the park or for a bike ride. A notice will be left to let those arriving later if they do go off site.
The Play Rangers scheme is suitable for eight to 12 year olds, and parents are welcome too.
