Local charity seeks inspiration for advertising campaign
National charity, the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability, is looking for young artists to help promote its vital work caring for people with a brain injury
The Putney based hospital has launched a competition inviting nine to eleven year olds to design a poster telling people about its specialist work.
The winning poster will be displayed on a billboard on busy West Hill, seen by hundreds of people every day, and all entries will be put on show along side pictures from professional artists at the charity’s ‘Art on the Hill’ event in October.
Oliver Wilkinson is the hospital’s communications officer, and organised the competition. He said, “As part of our schools programme we’ve given a number of assemblies in the local area. Pupils often come out with surprising and insightful comments so we thought this competition would be a great way of finding out how young people think we should promote ourselves."
Prizes will also include book tokens worth £30, £15 and £10.
The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is an independent national medical charity based in Putney. The hospital specialises in assessing and rehabilitating adults with traumatic brain injuries incurred through accidents or strokes. It also provides both treatment and long-term care for people with severe and complex neurological conditions, including Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy. The hospital's focus is on restoring independence, using technology to help people communicate and control their surroundings, and supporting families by creating a positive community.
