Joins party's calls for halt to AELTC expansion and Hammersmith Bridge tolls

The Conservative Party in the Putney has picked Lee Roberts as its parliamentary spokesperson for the constituency.
This means he is likely to contest the seat against Fleur Anderson when the next General Election takes place.
Mr Roberts is the Managing Director of Canvas Partnerships, which provides commercial consultancy to a range of clients in the arts, entertainment, retail, and environmental sector and has been a Board Director for the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo since 2019.
He says his priority is being an effective and tireless constituency representative of the whole community, championing those with problems and helping find solutions.
He has joined calls from local Conservative councillors for the proposed £3 charge to cross Hammersmith bridge to scrapped, and to stop the All-England Tennis Club’s expansion plans, which he says would disproportionately impact residents in Southfields and West Hill.
After his selection, he said, “I am thrilled to be selected. We need a Conservative back in Westminster to stand up for our community against Labour. The campaign starts now – let’s win it back!”
Cllr Will Sweet, Leader of the Opposition on Wandsworth Council, commented on the selection saying, “I look forward to working with Lee to hold Wandsworth Labour to account and improve the lives of Putney
residents.”
Fleur Anderson won the Putney seat for Labour with a majority of over 4,000. It was the only seat taken by Labour under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn during the 2019 election. Previously it had been held by Justine Greening for the Conservatives who had taken it from Labour in 2005.
