Council wants residents' views on revamp of West Putney play area
Wandsworth Council has unveiled plans to make changes the children’s play facilities at an open space in West Putney and also deliver keep fit ‘trim trail’ equipment.
The plans to improve fitness and leisure equipment at The Pleasance, on West Putney’s Dover House estate are now subject to consultation with local people able to choose their favourite from three different options.
The three options can be viewed on the council’s website. People can indicate which one they prefer before the consultation closes on January 6.
The new play equipment has been designed to be appropriate for children up to the age of eight. The proposed trim trail equipment would be suitable for all ages.
Parks and open spaces spokesman Cllr Steffi Sutters said: “Local people have three exciting designs to choose from. We hope they will take part in the consultation and help us pick the best one.
“We think this important local amenity space could offer so much more to residents which is why we have set aside funding to pay for these upgrades. The council is constantly looking at ways to improve the quality of its play equipment for our younger residents which is why we have invested significant sums in refurbishing so many play areas in recent years.”
Funding for these improvements has come from the Wandsworth Local Fund (WLF), which comprises money the council has levied on developers to help pay for community and local neighbourhood infrastructure across the borough.
