Stepping Out In Pink To Fight Breast Cancer

Putney shoe store creates limited edition supporting The Haven

Putney's children’s shoe retailer, One Small Step, One Giant Leap, has teamed up with breast cancer support charity The Haven to create a limited edition shoe for this year’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. The limited edition Maxy shoe in Traditional Pink will be sold throughout the month with all profits from the sales going towards helping to continue The Haven’s programme of support and care for those affected by breast cancer.

The Maxy shoe is part of One Small Step, One Giant Leap’s own brand, Max and May. The patent leather T-bar which is leather lined costs £34.95 and is available in children’s sizes UK 7-12 (EUR 24-31).

The Haven is the only national breast cancer charity that provides one-to-one support to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by breast cancer. Working in partnership with the NHS, The Haven offers a free integrated breast cancer support service. Specialist nurses and experts in nutrition, exercise and emotional support provide tailor-made programmes for each Visitor. It costs £1,000 to provide The Haven’s programme of care to one visitor.

Pamela Healy OBE, Chief Executive of The Haven said:
“We are extremely pleased that we have had the opportunity to collaborate with One Small Step, One Giant Leap on this gorgeous limited edition children’s shoe for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The funds raised will help us help as many people as possible affected by breast cancer.”

Melissa Western of One Small Step, One Giant Leap said:
“Breast Cancer is something that affects many women and the limited edition Maxy shoe is a great way for us to give somehing back and help raise the vital funds that The Haven needs to continue to provide its excellent support service.”
