At the ribbon cutting, attended by Wandsworth Mayor Cllr Piers McCausland, Iain Kirkpatrick, Managing Director – Retail Banking at Metro Bank said: “I’m delighted to be here with the local Mayor celebrating the opening of our 63rd store in Putney – home of the world famous university boat race. The warm welcome we’ve received from local residents and the business community to our banking revolution is overwhelming. We look forward to welcoming more residents through our doors, which are open 7-days a week, whether it’s for banking services, free coin counting, advice and support from our business managers or just using our event space for local meetings.”
Whilst many High Street retail names have closed in Putney, banks appear to be booming with Barclays Bank recently reopening after a refurbishment and Santander planning to reopen a larger Work Cafe branch (subject to planning permission).Hey Alex, how does it feel to be Store Manager at our brand spanking new #Putney store? #MBPutneyGO pic.twitter.com/JitqkXcAjF
