The final closure date for the Putney High Street Marks and Spencer store has been confirmed as 7 April.
The store's manager, Daniel has emailed regular shoppers saying, 'I’m writing to let you know that, after careful consideration, we’ll be closing the doors of M&S Putney for the last time on Saturday 7 April.
'Although we’re closing, this isn’t goodbye. You can still shop all departments at our stores in Kew and Kingston, or order online and pick up more locally from our Barnes Foodhall.
Thank you for shopping with us.'
On 31s January M&S announced that it was closing its store on Putney High Street while giving the assurance that the 62 staff employed there would be given jobs at nearby stores.
The closure is part of M&S’s programme to modernise its UK store estate.
Jayne Saunders, M&S Head of Region for South West London, said in January,“This is something we’ve given a great deal of consideration to and is not a decision we’ve taken lightly. We’ve got a great team in Putney and I’m pleased they will stay with us and continue to serve our customers from stores nearby.”
