Work is set to begin within the next fortnight on a series of road safety measures along the busy Lower Richmond Road in Putney.
The works involve a series of engineering design changes at four key junctions which will make it safer and easier for pedestrians to cross the roads. The works will take place at the Lower Richmond Road’s junctions with Fanthorpe Street, Farlow Road, Stanbridge Road and Bendemeer Road.
The changes will involve raising the carriageway level so that step free access is provided making it much easier for pedestrians, and especially wheelchair users and parents pushing buggies to cross.
This measure, along with kerb realignments, will also help reduce vehicle speeds for drivers turning off the main road into these four residential side-streets.
