Borough Library Users Asked to Complete Survey
Better collecting feedback to shape future provision of service

Library users across Wandsworth are being invited to share their views in a short survey highlighted by the Putney Society, offering residents a chance to comment on how well their local library service is working. The questionnaire asks people to rate their experience of using the library, including the welcome provided by staff, the range of books and activities on offer, the online catalogue, and access to computers and Wi‑Fi. Respondents are also asked whether they were aware that the organisation running the borough’s libraries operates as a charitable social enterprise. The deadline for completing the survey is 31 August, and it can be accessed online.
Wandsworth’s library service has, for many years, been delivered through an outsourced management contract between Wandsworth Council and Greenwich Leisure Ltd, the charitable social enterprise better known to the public as Better. The council continues to own all eleven libraries in the borough, sets the strategic direction for library provision and funds the service. GLL is responsible for day‑to‑day operations, including staffing, customer service, events, IT access, stock circulation and building management.
This partnership forms part of the council’s Libraries First! strategy, which was shaped through consultation with residents and with input from GLL as the delivery partner. It is understood that the current survey is one of the tools being used to gather public feedback as part of that ongoing process. The results will help inform future decisions about how the service evolves and how libraries can best meet the needs of the communities they serve.
