Top performance for Putney Primary Schools
Sparkling results at Key Stage One and Two
The top-performing schools were Our
Lady of Victories along with St Anselm's, Beatrix Potter.
Across the borough scores were up in maths and science and down
slightly in English. The proportion achieving the required standard in
each subject was 73.3 per cent, 85.4 per cent and 77.9 per cent respectively.
In all schools more than three-quarters of pupils are achieving the
required standard in all three subjects compared to just half in 1996.
In the tests for seven year-olds the highest scorers were All Saints, Honeywell and
St Anselm's.
Executive member for children and young people's services Kathy Tracey
said,
"These results are an important guide to individual pupils' progress
and overall school performance. Our inspectors will always look behind the headline scores to learn
from those schools that have performed well. We use the information to
help us focus attention on those schools that are not doing so well."
The Department for Education and Skills will publish full details of
schools' performance later this year at www.dfes.gov.uk/performancetables
