Judith Kerr lends her support to the opening at Greenmead School
The new library, the brainchild of former head teacher Angela Laxton, has been created with the help of fundraising over two years.
Fully stocked with a selection of texts including sensory books, the facility is a welcome addition to the school after the original library was transformed into a sensory room over two years ago.
Head teacher, Penny Morley said, “ We are delighted at the opening of our new library and the children are looking forward to meeting Judith Kerr who will read extracts from her latest book. The new facility has been made possible with the help of fundraising from a number of sources including local Rokeby House School and families of pupils at the school including the Barfoot family and the Marmion family who have made a substantial input.”
During her visit to the school, Judith Kerr will treat pupils to a story telling session, reading excerpts from some of her works.
