'Totally wrong ... Everyone can see this for what it is, a grubby attempt to force No Deal'
Justine Greening MP speaks out against Brexit in parliament
Putney's Conservative MP Justine Greening has stepped into the row after Prime Minster Boris Johnson's controversial decision to suspend Parliament until a few weeks before the Brexit deadline.
Former Secretary of State for Transport, Secretary of State for International Development, Secretary of State for Education and Minister for Women and Equalities Justine Greening tweeted:
75% of Ms Greening's constituents who voted in the 2016 EU referendum voted to 'remain'.Totally wrong to prorogue Parliament. Everyone can see this for what it is, a grubby attempt to force No Deal. As Privy Cllr & MP, I cannot support putting the Queen in an impossible position & closing down debate. Take back control now = take away control https://t.co/6PvCK61hDn

Then it’s decision time. At 2017 GE hustings @MercerRyanJ said ‘Your problem, Justine, is that your party is a millstone around your neck.’ Well, it must be weighing heavily now! You say you understand the #ClimateCrisis (?) Please have a chat with @CarolineLucas #MarginalSeat

But it means the time MPs, who will return to Parliament for just a few days before the suspension, have less time to pass laws to stop a no-deal Brexit on October 31 would be cut.
House of Commons Speaker John Bercow has also said it was a "constitutional outrage".
