“Even through the strike has finished, a number of residents have reported that post services are still irregular – it is something I have noticed also as a local resident. The impact on local businesses could be serious, so I have raised this issue in Parliament today with the Leader of the House Harriet Harman. I have also followed up not only with the Putney Sorting Office manager, but also Adam Crozier, Chief Executive of Royal Mail to press for whatever can be done to ensure that the service on the ground starts to get back to some form of normality.

Our postal service is crucial to Putney, Roehampton and Southfields residents and local businesses. It is now a serious matter that two weeks after the official union strike has finished an effective service seems not to have been restored. I would ask that any resident who has had problems gets in touch with me so that I can make sure problems are sorted out as fast as possible.”
