Theresa May has appointed Justine Greening to education Secretary replacing Nicky Morgan. Her brief 'to ensure everyone gets the best start in life.'
Justine Greening told the BBC she is "absolutely delighted" to be made the new education secretary, taking over from Nicky Morgan. She was also appointed minister for women and equalities. Her new department will also take on higher and further education, skills and apprenticeships.
Local MP since 2005, she became economic secretary to the Treasury after the 2010 election, succeeding Philip Hammond as transport secretary after he was promoted to defence secretary. In October 2011 She became international development secretary.
