Justine Greening, MP for Putney, Roehampton & Southfields, officially opened the first London Laura Ashley ‘Home Only’ store last Friday. Placed in the up and coming Putney Bridge Wharf area, the 4,000 square metre store on Putney Bridge Road neighbours Putney Wharf which was successfully re-developed last year.
Justine Greening MP who recently met with Steve Wallace, Putney’s Town Centre Manager said she was:
‘Delighted that Laura Ashley has chosen to open their store locally. Putney is clearly a major shopping destination for many, and it is great to have another top brand opening a store here. I hope this area will attract more new shoppers to Putney, which will benefit the whole high street. I wish you good luck and success, and a warm welcome to Putney!’
Whilst happy shoppers browsed the new store, Lillian Tan, Chief Executive of Laura Ashley stated: ‘We are very happy to be here in Putney with the first London ‘Home Only’ store. We hope to encourage the regeneration of such an accessible location. We are continuing with the expansion of ‘Home Only’ stores into 2006, and are delighted that Justine Greening was able to be here today.’
