Proposed company providing 'marksmen' was run by man with a criminal record
Residents of Roehampton Close have been concerned by a recent letter from their Managing Agents informing them that marksmen would be coming to the close on the night of the 14/15th October to shoot foxes that the Residents Association had said were causing problems. They were advised to keep their pets in doors that night.
One concerned resident has told PutneySW15.com that he was not aware of problems with foxes but what really concerned him was:
"What makes for interesting reading is the fact that pest control company is being run by a man who has a criminal record for violence." referring to a recent article in the Telegraph.
A spokesman for Nightingale Chancellors the Property management company told PutneySW15.com:
" County Pest Control were used by one of our other clients and the treatment seemed to work successfully. They are not a regular supplier of Pest Control Services to our portfolio and we were not aware that anyone to do with this company has a conviction for violence. If this is the case it is unlikely we will consider using them again."
In an email he informed us that the cull has been cancelled:
"Based on the suggestion of West Sussex Wildlife Protection, we have called in the Humane Wildlife Deterrence Company who carried out an inspection yesterday. We will be receiving a report and recommendations. Provided this action provides our client with a satisfactory solution, we will have no reason to call in any other pest control company.
We do appreciate that this has been an emotive issue but hope we have found a solution that will be approved of by all."
No doubt the fox and human residents will await the recommendations with bated breath!
