Parish of Putney Launches Foodbank Sunday

As number of people referred to Wandsworth Foodbank increases for the 4th year running

In 2016-17, Wandsworth Foodbank provided 4712 emergency food supplies to people referred in crisis. 1 in 3 were children.
Each household using the Foodbank is referred in crisis – without sufficient food or money to buy sufficient food.

With the number of people referred to Wandsworth Foodbank in 2016-17 has increasing for the 4th year running, the Parish of Putney has decided to give direct help to the local Foodbank in Tidesley Road in Putney.

The two churches in the parish are starting a new initiative called FOODBANK SUNDAY this Sunday (1st April). It’s an easy way to make a big difference to those in need. So on the 1st Sunday of every month they will have a list of items currently needed by the Foodbank and ask anyone able to, to donate on the following Sunday (2nd Sunday of the month).

These items will get delivered directly, later that day. There will be a display board, and poster on the noticeboard, for information regarding the donations for each month. For further information about what is needed please click here.
