LBC Presenter Accused Of ‘Racist, Bigoted’ Comments

Nic Ferrari told Muslim caller to "go some place else"

Nic Ferrari was involved in a heated discussion on Monday (16th November) with a caller from Putney called Mahmoud, after the DJ had blamed the terror in Paris as a "Muslim problem", as the militants claim they are committing these acts in the name of Islam.

Ferrari agreed that some people had,
"Taken your faith and twisted it and warped it & turned these people in to heartless killers".

Mahmoud said that the terrorists "purported to be Muslims". He reminded Ferarri who has visited the local mosque in Morden, that, the creed for Muslims to live by is 'Love for all hatred for none'. Tensions increased when Mahmoud claimed that the UK foreign policy involving bombing attacks on countries in the Middle East such as Syria was likely to have contributed to the recent attacks in France and other countries. Mahmoud said:
"A lot of this is to do with British and European foreign policy,” he said. “It’s unpalatable for people like yourself, but that is the fact.”

Ferrari retaliated by suggesting that Mahmoud sympathised with the motives behind other terror attacks, telling him,“So you’re one of the ones who has sympathy. So you probably had sympathy with the Charlie Hebdo killings. If you don’t like it sir, go some place else."

Ferrari was then accused of using bigoted language for suggesting he leave the country because of his views on foreign intervention,“That’s a racist comment, are you a member of the EDL?”

The LBC DJ refused to back down and repeated his stance that,“If you don’t like British Government policy and the only way you see of dealing with it is to go round shooting people then don’t stay in this country.”
