Informant's claims that three boys were killed by VIP sex ring 'credible and true'
The police are saying that the informant who has given them details of a VIP sex ring is credible and that as a result they are looking again at three historic murders including the death of Vishal Mehrotra from Putney.
Officers say they believe the information given to them by 'Nick' who claims he was abused by senior establishment figures. They now want other people who may have been abused in a similar way to come forward and are looking particularly at cases of abuse at Dolphin Square, an apartment block near the Houses of Parliament.
8 year old Vishal went missing in July 1981
Vishambar Mehrotra, Vishal's father, received a call from a male prostitute who claimed his son had been abducted from Putney and taken to the Elm Guest House in Barnes in 1981. He took the recording to the police but he says the police told him that they would not investigate an allegation concerning 'judges and politicians. No indication has been given that the person who called Mr Mehrotra is the same person who is currently providing information to the Met inquiry.
Sussex police are already reviewing the case as Vishal's body was discovered there some months after his disappearance. The Met are liasing with the Sussex force but say a link with their investigation was unknown at this stage.
Det Supt Kenny McDonald, who is leading the homicide inquiry, has said that he believes the claims made by the witness are true. The alleged abuse lasted a decade at locations across South East, including military premises and the Elm Guest House in Barnes. Nick claimed he was abused between 1975 and 1984 when he was aged between 7 and 16.
McDonald said: “I appeal to men who were subjected to abuse 30 years ago to come forward. We are also investigating the murder of three young boys – we are determined to find answers.”
The enquiry wants to speak to both residents of Dolphin Square at the time of the alleged abuse and any men who were abused as boys by this group.
He said, “I believe that there were other boys who were abused, or who were present while the abuse took place. I would ask you to trust me. I will support you, and do everything in my power to find those responsible and bring them to justice. I need your accounts to help me do that.”
Vishal, from Putney, disappeared while shopping with his nanny and sister on 29 July 1981.
