Company & Director Summonsed Over 2010 Death Of Putney Girl


11-year-old Mari-Simon Cronje was killed after falling off an inflatable banana boat

A company and one if its directors have been summonsed to appear at court following the death of 11-year-old Mari-Simon Cronje in 2010.

Mari-Simon was attending a children's birthday party and was part of a group riding the inflatable on a lake at the site. She fell into the water and was hit by the boat's propeller.

The Princes Sporting Club was summonsed on 29th January for corporate manslaughter under section 1(1) Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 and an offence under section 3(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

49 year old Frederick Glen Walker, a director of the company, was summonsed today, (31 January) for offences under section 3(1) and section 37 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Both are summonsed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on 19 February at 10:00hrs.

A man in his twenties who was on bail after being arrested in connection with the investigation was not proceeded with in September 2012.
