Spate Of Burglaries End Following Arrests

Police enter five premises following intelligence gathering

Wandsworth police have been investigating two separate series of burglaries which were being committed in the Putney area.

In the first series the offenders targeted high value homes, gaining entry by forcing rear doors and windows, often using available garden tools. On most occasions they made off with jewellery and small electrical items.

On the second series offenders waited for residents leaving their homes and slipping the Yale lock to gain entry. Again Jewellery and electrical items were taken.

During these two series no violence was used.

Following intelligence gathering and policing operations a number of warrants were executed on the 5th of July at five premises and several arrests made.

To date, one individual as been charged for burglary and several others remain on bail pending further investigations.

Since the arrests there have been no further reported burglaries as part of either series.
