Eight Year Old Boy Dies


Following collision with 'black cab' on Robin Hood Way

Police are appealing for witnesses after an eight year old child died after being involved in a road traffic collision.

They were called by London Ambulance Service at approximately 15:45hrs on Monday, 5 March 2012 to reports of a 'black cab' [Hackney carriage] and a boy on a bicycle in collision on Robin Hood Way, SW15.

Officers attended and the boy was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital suffering multiple injuries, but sadly he died on Tuesday 6 March.

His family have been informed but the police are not in a position to name him at the momement. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

The driver of the cab stopped at the scene. He was not arrested.

Investigators from the Road Death Investigation Unit at Hampton were at the scene and are carrying out enquires into the circumstances of the collision.
