Antoni Imiela, who is accused of a string of rapes across South
Est England including one in Putney has pleaded not guilty to all
charges.
He appeared in the dock at Maidstone Crown Court to formally enter his plea.
The former railway worker, from Appledore, near Ashford, Kent, is charged with nine counts of rape against three girls under 16 and five women. The attacker in the Putney case used the victim's mobile phone to taunt her family about the attack.
The alleged offences took place in Kent, Berkshire, Surrey, Hertfordshire and south-west London between November 2001 and October 2002.
Mr Imiela, also denied the kidnap, indecent assault and attempted rape of a 10-year-old girl in Birmingham on 21 November last year.
The date of Mr Imiela's trial has been fixed for next January 2004 and he has been remanded in custody.
Mr Imiela spoke only to confirm his name, to deny all the charges and indicate that he understood the judge's directions for the date of his trial.
