Burglary at King's College School Boathouse


Appeal for witnesses after theft from woman

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a burglary in Putney on 16 June 2007 at 1.50pm.

Police attended a residential flat above Kings College School Boathouse on Putney Embankment, (pictured left at a regatta) after the female resident confronted a man in her flat who claimed to be looking for the rowing club.

She explained it was a school club and he would not be able to join. He made his excuses and ran off in an unknown direction.

The 31 year-old woman soon realised that her games console, digital camera and iPod had been stolen.

The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 21 yrs old, 5ft 9”, proportionate build with shaven black hair and goatee bird. He was wearing a white sleeveless basketball top with a logo

Detective Constable Helen Rainbow, of Wandsworth CID, said: “If anyone saw this man in the area, or, if you know who this man may be, then please come forward to police and help us catch him.”

No one has been arrested and inquiries continue.
