Police are appealing for information in connection with an act of criminal damage committed on a bus travelling through Putney on 25.11.06 at 05.15.

A man boarded the route 93 bus outside Morden tube station at 05.00 hours and refused to show a valid bus pass to the driver. The driver called him back; he reluctantly showed his pass and sat down.

As the bus approached Tibbets Corner SW15, the man stood up and started ringing the bell, and swearing while demanding the bus to stop. The driver told him to stop so he punched the security screen of his cab door, smashing it.

The driver was not injured.

Police are issuing a CCTV image of a man who they would like to speak to in connection with the incident as he may have information that could assist the investigation.

He is described as white, around 30-years-old, 5ft 10" tall and wearing a white anorak and jeans. He has a distinctive hairstyle. Police ask either the man in the image or anyone who recognises him to contact them.

No one has been arrested and inquiries continue.
