Mina Guli has run 40 marathons in 40 days to raise awareness of water issues

This Saturday Mina Guli will be passing through Putney on the Thames Bank as she reaches the conclusion of an epic journey of over 1,000 miles.
She is running 40 marathons in 40 days along 6 of the world's greatest rivers to raise awareness of the United Nation's Global Goal 6 - to get clean water and sanitation for all by 2030. The 46-year-old lawyer’s #Run4Water campaign has already seen her run 1,350km in 35 days, and she is now in England to run the length of the Thames as her last river. Preceding the UK leg, she has run along the Colorado (USA), the Amazon (Brazil), the Murray (Australia), the Yangtze (China), and the Nile (Egypt).
She plans a well-earned stay in a local pub on Saturday night before completing her run. Everyone is invited to join the last 6km of the 1,688km journey on Sunday.
Mina said, “It will be hugely meaningful to me if you come down and join me for the last 6km of the run.
“Anyone and everyone is welcome, whether you are a walker, jogger, runner or a mom with a stroller. The more the merrier! I'm not running fast. In fact, my run has now become more of a shuffle. :)
“After the run, there will be a flag signing ceremony after which we’ll proceed to Horniman Pub at Hays Galleria for celebratory drinks. It's stumbling distance from the finish line.”
If you would like to join Mina meet 10:45am at the North side of the Millennium Foot Bridge. The run will start at 11am sharp and last for 60 to 80 minutes. They will start at the North side of Millennium Foot Bridge, following the Thames River to Westminster Bridge, where they will cross to the South Bank and finish at the Scoop, beside Tower Bridge. You are asked to wear a blue shirt for water.
