Firefighters were called to a car stuck on mud at Embankment, Putney on 8th June at 5.50am after the vehicle had driven down a slipway at Putney Pier and became stuck in one foot of mud - it was back up on the road and fire fighters had left the scene before 7am.
Firefighters, including the crew from the Brigade’s fire boat based at Lambeth, worked hard with a rising tide to free the vehicle and its occupant from the mud by using a winch. The RNLI from Chiswick lifeboat station also attended.
Fire crews from Fulham, Wandsworth, Chelsea and Lambeth River fire stations attended the scene.
