Tried & True Café needs your vote
The Best Breakfast Awards are taking place as part of Farmhouse Breakfast Week (26 January – 1 February 2014), the nation’s biggest celebration of breakfast. Tried & True is in the running for most innovative breakfast. The winning breakfast dishes will be those which have the most public votes, so Tried & True is calling on its customers and the local community to vote for them.
You can vote between 9th December 2013 until 19th January 2014 online at www.shakeupyourwakeup.com/best-breakfast-awards/tried-true
The breakfast which could be crowned the country’s best is Tried & True’s signature BBQ Pulled Pork Benedict. The breakfast, wildly popular with local brunchers, consists of a gorgeous spice rubbed pork shoulder, slowly roasted over night until it is falling off the bone. The tender meat is then tossed in our own smoky bbq sauce and liberally served atop our homemade jalapeno cheddar cornbread with a couple of poached free range organic eggs. A little chilli butter and chopped spring onions crowns this great indulgent start to the day.
The winners – those with the most public votes – will be announced during Farmhouse Breakfast Week. TV chef Dean Edwards who is supporting the campaign will visit the overall winning venue in person. The ‘Breakfast Squad’ from awards organisers HGCA, will also be visiting some of the winners during Farmhouse Breakfast Week.
Rob Kelly, Kiwi owner of Tried & True, said,“When we opened Tried & True early in 2012 the pulled pork benedict was just a twinkle in our eye. The delicious dish finally made it onto the menu in early 2013 and we have been tweaking and improving it since. It is a decadent breakfast inspired by both the north American southern BBQ and the relaxed antipodean approach to breakfast dining”.
Karen Levy, from HGCA said:“Increasing numbers of people are choosing to have breakfast out of the home and these awards recognise the fantastic breakfast dishes being served up and down the country. Good luck to everyone who has entered and make sure you show your support by voting for your favourite best breakfast dish!”
Farmhouse Breakfast Week is a nationwide annual campaign in its 15th year, organised on behalf of UK cereal farmers and producers.
