Uli Larosa's way of thanking readers for their support
As a thank you to PutneySW15.com readers for their support for my art project last year, I would like to donate, as a prize, one of the photos from my Putney Toy Town collection 2010, which was a finalist in the photoWANDSWORTH contest in March 2011.
The photo is a miniature simulation of Putney Bridge and is printed on Foamex.
Thank you again to those of you who purchased Putney Toy Town Calendars and Prints last year; it has been an amazing success. This year I am preparing a new calendar and I will be using the photos from my new project: The Mime Series. This project, inspired by Fellini’s movies and his burlesque atmospheres, sees as its centre, an ingenious character, a mime. The photos were all taken in one day when I followed a mime across London while he interacted with people and amidst historic buildings of London. It was amazing to see how people responded and were captured by the magic of the character.
To celebrate the launch of this new art project, there will be a new exhibition/event from the 16th to the 30th of September in Westminster Reference Library (next to the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square) and in Putney Library (dates tba), where a unique approach to the word “art” will be taken. We will have the photographic exhibition together with a live exhibition, where the main character from the pictures will come alive and interact with the audience. You’ll find more details in my blog.
I would love to welcome you to join me for these events and if you are interested in pre-booking the 2012 calendars, please drop me a line at gu@vangumedia.com or go to my website: www.vangumedia.com; you can also follow me on twitter: VanGuMedia
