Armed Robbery at Hammersmith Bookies


Raid hits Corals in the Broadway Shopping Centre

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an robbery at a bookmakers in Hammersmith.

CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with the incident have been released.

Police were called at around 8.20pm Thursday 22 March, to reports of a robbery at Coral Bookmakers, Hammersmith Broadway Shopping Centre.

A man entered the shop and went up to front counter, where he pointed a black handgun at members of staff. They fled to a back room and the man left empty-handed, on foot across Queen Caroline Street, towards the Hammersmith Bridge Road.

The suspect is described as white in appearance, approx 5'9" in height, and of a stocky build. His age is not known. He was wearing a distinctive dark blue duffle jacket with wooden toggles and beige baseball cap.

Detectives from the Flying Squad based at Barnes are investigating.
