Police still seek other man who raped 66-year-old woman in a hotel

A man who committed rape in a West Brompton hotel back in 2014 has been jailed for seven years after he was traced through his DNA.

37-year-old Kevon Leslie Inniss was at an event at the hotel on 12 October 2014 when, along with another man, he raped a 66-year-old woman. CCTV footage shows the two men accompanying the woman back to her hotel room where the offence took place.

In June 2017 DNA was taken from Inniss following an incident of GBH in which he was arrested. Initially Inniss denied the charge but, when presented with the DNA evidence, changed his plea to guilty at Isleworth Crown Court on 19 December..

He was sentenced to seven years and six months' imprisonment on Friday, 29 March.

Detective Constable Jonny Norman, the investigating officer, said, "Despite Inniss having admitted this offence and being sentenced, it should be mentioned the victim in this case has lived for years with the effects of having been raped.

"She has shown incredible strength throughout and I hope that today's sentencing brings a measure of comfort."

At the time of conviction, Inniss was serving a sentence of seven years and six months imprisonment for the GBH in June 2017.

The second suspect was never identified. Efforts to identify and trace him continue.
