Two Men Sought After Racist Assault in Parsons Green Pub

Brothers assaulted on evening of Chelsea victory parade

CCTV images have been released of two men police wish to speak to in connection with a racially motivated attack at the Duke on the Green pub in Parsons Green.

The assault took place on the evening of 25 May when the pub on New Kings Road was crowded with Chelsea supporters attending the victory parade for the club's premier league championship.

A 40-year-old man had been in the toilets when he was racially abused and assaulted, punched several times around the head, by two men. The victim's friend was able to break up the fight and escorted him downstairs.

The victim's brother, aged 37, went to remonstrate with the attackers and was then subjected to a sustained and vicious attack outside the pub; where he was thrown to the floor and kicked in the head and face. He sustained three fractures to his jaw and requires ongoing medical attention.

Detectives would like to speak to two men captured on CCTV, and have released the images; appealing for them to come forward and for the public's help in identifying them.

Detective Sergeant Clare Chattaway, who is leading the investigation, said,"A day of celebration ended in misery with the victims and their family still in shock from what took place. This was a particularly vicious assault with one victim continuing to receive medical treatment for the injuries he sustained when he was brutally kicked in the face. We would appeal to anyone with information about these two men featured in the images to please make contact with us".
