RIP Kevin Keegan

Sad news today that hehas died,aged 75.A wonderful,hard working an whole hearted player,one of the best of his era.He won the Ballon D'or twice and was also a European Footballer of the Year,honours not many other British players have won.I wish we had another one like him now.

Preston North End tried to buy him before he went to Liverpool but they couldn't come up with the £35,000 fee.What a bargain he was at that price.The fans loved him at every club he played for.A survey was once done amongst the 22 First Division managers asking whether they would rather have George Best or Kevin Keegan at their club.20 said they would have Keegan.

Yes sad news a great player and lead the line well despite his relatively short stature , never forgot his working class origins.I remember one reminiscence by someone that when he was transferred to Hamburg in 1977 he was being interviewed on German TV who said they would conduct the interview in English but no Keegan insisted on stumbling through in his then limited German.Greatly impressed the German public who dubbed him "mighty mouse";RIP Kevin

Desperately sad, we knew it was coming, Kevin opened up about his condition weeks ago, but still..He was simply a great footballer and a constant headache to the very beat defenders, at home and abroad.I remember his poodle perm, mullet, and enthusiasm with affection.
