Although crowing our own trumpet, I would also recommend Robert Winter our sales director in Borthwicks. We are an independent agent having been in Chiswick since 1937. Robert values any property on a realistic sales price based on local experience (as much as Whitmans & Andrew Nunn do too). This is often tempered with what a seller is potentially expecting after looking at the main property portals which will generally inflate figures. As a seller, of course, it is who you feel most comfortable dealing with

We've sometimes found that a property can get stuck with the first agent as they get bored with it after their initial 'enthusiasm', and taking the property to another agent can sometimes inject renewed interest.

It's not good to reduce the price of your property after it has been listed for awhile, better to start a a realistic price and stick to it, don't reduce it.

Vendors often have inflated ideas about the value of their property. There is little point in listing a property at an inflated figure unless the market is exceptionally strong at the time and you hope to find an idiot to pay that figure. It is of course well known that quite a few agents over value simply to get the instruction. A few weeks go by and then they suggest a price reduction. The property isn’t then new to the market and the best opportunity to sell has been wasted. Rightmove produce figures for all agents showing how long it takes them to sell a property and the figure achieved as a percentage of the original asking price.They aren't available to the public but the agent might show you if they have nothing to hide. If you saw the figures though there are some agents you definitely wouldn't instruct so they wont be allowing you to see them!

Andrew Nunn, next to the BP garage in South Parade, was great to deal with when selling my mother's house in BP a few years ago.  He was an extremely pleasant, ethical person to deal with.Wasn't keen on Whitmans, they seemed to underprice properties -probably a great business model in terms of getting properties off the books swiftly, but not the best if you're selling.
