Ignorantly!!??  You seem to think you know everything - but you obviously don't. I used to regularly pass the staff at the Roebuck sweeping up the cigarette butts in the front of the pub early in the morning.  This is what always used to happen in the past.  Proprietors took great pride in the entrances to their shops.  They didn't just whinge about other people not doing things.

I remember the Roebuck in a previous guise as The Birdcage - a big old gay boozer. Always thought it was an odd location, but then there was another gay pub in King St (The Ram?).

Philippa has always (ignorantly) been having a go at shops/premises for not keeping the pavement clean. Of course she doesn't realize what happens in the early hours when most of this cleaning occurs. Yet she still see's fit to criticize. Proselytize. As if she and she alone knows what's best and what's happening.

Under TUPE the new employer would be required to take on existing staff and their contract terms? The staff do not have to agree if they do not wish to. Urban Pubs & Bars runs dozens of venues in the London area, there is a map of their venues on their website. They seem to be growing fast so they must be doing something right. They now have annual sales of more than £100m and are backed by Davidson Kempner and Global Mutual.

The Coach and Horses occupied the large building on the corner of Chiswick High Road and Netheravon Road, which is now empty. "It was licensed by 1761 and described as a `humble roadside inn’ frequented by market carts on their way to London. The `humble’ inn was demolished in 1900 and replaced by a `palatial building’ which, in 1972 when it had become a Schooner Inn, had a stream running around the main bar. The pub’s `inn sign’ was a full scale model of a coach on the first floor balcony."Thats about all i can find

What..Totaly agree I hope nothing changes, from the top down. But always worry when someone has ideas that backfire. If it works, don't change it, which is why the new owners have purchased it.
