LBH Failed Leaf collection

Numerous complaints from residents of MertonThornton,Cleveland Avenues regarding the failure of Hounslow Councilto collect the leaf wasteSchedule of collection dates initially shown on website was for 2024 - now updated.On some dates shown no sign of HH ataff.Cllr. Grewal.Cabinet member for street cleansing says this outstanding work will be rectified ASAP.Let's seeCll John Todd

I stand to be corrected but I believe the sad truth is that most of Hounslow 'garbage' by weight is transported by train to Bristol where it is incinerated producing heat for generating electricity. The ash residue certainly used to be (and may still be) mixed with cement and formed into breeze blocks for the construction industry.This removes the need to send non-recyclable waste to land-fill. It also locks away any nasty residues that have not been filtered out when the garbage is incinerated.

Thanks Sam. I realised what you say however my question stands, where do the 'contaminated' leaves end up. There must be many tons.Do you know?

Adrian: Vegetable matter placed in residents brown bins is composted and the residue sold on as fertiliser. Leaves collected from the street and gutters are likely to have been contaminated by a variety of harmful substances that may well remain after composting and make the residue unfit to be sold on or used in the Borough's parks

Well it’s great that the council did some removable of leaves in some roads - they were not done on other roads where I fell- it was not acceptable.  I had the worst fall I have ever had.  I will look tomorrow at the road staveley outside the school -  towards the main road - hopefully they have done it. !!

I had an enormous slip on these bloody wet leaves - bruises everywhere and hit my head on the ground. Luckily ok but I’ve never seen leaves on the ground left like this. Thanks council.

I have a 'brown bin' in which to put garden waste.In the terms set out by Hounslow I am not to put leaves from the pavement and gutter in the 'brown bin'.Why? Because they may be "contaminated".My question is when and if Hounslow sweep the roads where do these " contaminated " leaves end up?Also when a clean was done in the past residents had prior  notice so cars could be moved. Now a road sweeping  lorry just turns and and hovers between parked vehicles leaving a lot untouched. H H should be rebranded, H H H.Hopeless Hounslow Highways.

Happened to walk past yesterday. Noticed they were collecting leaves on Cleveland and likely to progress onto Merton. Roughly 2pm.As ever, thanks to John Todd for making a difference. He will be sorely missed.

Grove Park joins the "que"...Filthy, disgusting and very dangerous to walk on the pavements!!! (whiles residents pay quite a high council tax here -too-)

There are quite a few councils asking residents if they need bags to put the leaves THEY have swept up into. In the part of Ealing I live in, most of the leaves have turned to a mush which covers both pavement and road and, when it rains, blocks the drains which leads to flooding. Whereas it's comforting to see that Hounslow is in the same boat as Ealing, that's scant comfort to all of us who have to go out every day and experience the council's inability to do even a basic job.

"Thornton, Cleveland Avenues, regarding the failure of Hounslow Council" These are the worst roads I see for leaf fall every year. You need 3 parking spaces, 10ft high, to stack the bags. I see that in part, people have gathered the leaves into a pile which are as high as a SUV bonnet. Given the number of close plain trees lining the whole roads named, you would at least think it's noted as a priority and done before even today's date
