There are a number of points to make here.Firstly Hina Mir is, and probably always was, unfit to be a councillor and, as we are starting to look more closely at who currently represents Hounslow with the election looming, it is becoming apparent that she is not the only one. This administration doesn't deserve to survive but probably will due to the splitting of the opposition vote with people having the option of Reform, Green and the Tories as an alternative.Secondly, as my wife will tell you, nobody should be held responsible for the crimes and misdemeanours of their spouse. You may have your suspicions that Hina Mir knew more about her husband's wrongdoings than she is letting on, but no court has convicted her in relation to these offences so, in this country, that means she is innocent in this instance.Thirdly, I had to chuckle when I saw her being accused of not adhering to British standards. When our children were young it was very evident that a large proportion of parents were using people not legally entitled to be in this country for child care and I am sure this hasn't changed much. Large number of cleaners and people employed to look after elderly relatives probably are also off the books. Giving work to someone here illegally is a very British thing to do particularly in this part of London. If you order from Deliveroo, chances are you are doing it yourself. Less of the hypocrisy on this matter please!Fourthly, Hina Mir is a British citizen and may well have been born in this country. Her children almost certainly will have been. If you really believe that citizens should be deported to countries where they have antecedents for non-custodial offences, you need to thing through the implications of this policy. Thorburn is a vaguely Viking sounding name so you could find yourself looking for accommodation in Stockholm if you were caught speeding.
