The Public Spaces Protection Order (Alcohol) covering the whole of the London Borough of Hounslow was renewed in April this year. The effect of the Order is to impose the following conditions at all times on the consumption of Alcohol which may cause anti-social behaviour within the Restricted Area:a. The prohibition ofAlcohol consumption, by any person who, consumes Alcohol or anything which an Authorised Person reasonably believes to be Alcohol, having been required to stop the consumption, by an Authorised Person; and / orb. The requirement to surrender Alcohol, by any person who refuses to hand over any container (open or closed) which is believed to contain Alcohol, when required to do so by anAuthorised Person.Any person found to be in breach of this Order shall be:a. guilty of an offence; andb. be liable to a Fixed Penalty Notice (which for information as at the date of this Order is limitedto a maximum of £100 but may be varied from time to time) or, on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding Level 2 on the standard scale (which for information as at the date of this Order is limited to a maximum of £500 but which may also be varied from time to time).Public Spaces" means any place to which the public or any section of the public has access, on payment or otherwise, as of right or by virtue of express or implied permission; and "Restricted Area" means all Public Spaces in the open air (including any park, open space,street or highway) in the London Borough of Hounslow.
