There is sometimes a fine line between the expression of moral outrage and all-consuming hate. Starmer has thus far been a dreadful Prime Minister, who has made several major errors, including the appalling misjudgment of appointing Mandelson as Washington Ambassador. Richard Greenhough, who is manifestly no Labour supporter, has explained the possible reasoning behind this grave error in more kindly terms than you. I still believe Starmer is a decent man, but flawed. He is timid, fearful of the malign influence of Farage's populism (and consequently makes far too many concessions to Farage's anti-immigrant pitch, and is afraid to push the case for an accommodation with the EU), and he obviously, but misguidedly, wants, or wanted pre-Davos, to stay on good terms with Trump. To claim that Starmer is not an honourable or a decent person and that the women is his cabinet are "disgusting" because of an indirect connection, through Mandelson, with the monster Epstein is hyperbolic humbug of the first order.
