BBC 1,2 and 4

Anyone else had these channels disappear from the programme menu on their TV? They are now only showing as HD channels on the menu.

Just thinking about it, is it Freeview you are watching or something else? The SD versions of BBC1 and BBC2 disappeared off Satellite some time ago.The main reason for sticking to SD ( apart from recreating that retro 625 look) would be if your reception of HD is marginal.

The was a notice on my TV recently about an uodate come to think of it.Possibly that.It's no real sweat I suppose,I can still get the channels on HD.

Really odd - I'm almost certainly across the same Multiplex as you are and it's suggesting that both SD and HD versions of both BBC1 and BBC2 are available. The HD versions are in a different Multiplex but according to the web NewsChannel is in the same Multiplex as BBC1 SD and BBC2 SD.I'll have a look at my dad's TV tonight and see what it's showing.Something like a software update on the TV could cause something like this ( and software updates can sometimes happen without you knowiung about them).

No the retunng did not return the channels.I can get 231 and the HD versions of the missing channels.It only happened yesterday and all other channels seem ok so I doubt if it's the ariel.Thanks for the replies.

Did the retuning work Keith?If not then possible reasons could be that your aerial isn't receiving the Multiplex BBC1 SD is on. Can you receive BBC News Channel on 231?

Yes,the first thing I tried was retuning.

Maybe try retuning? BBC1 and BBC2 are still there in SD.GB News is the channel my father's telly seems to forget more than any other!
