Windsor flypast for Trump

I gather the US jets were withdrawn owing to bad weather which was disappointing. It's not as if they were being expected to put on a full display - just to fly in formation in a straight line!The Red Arrows managed it as well as the Red Devils the next day in far from ideal parachuting weather.

You're right, I suppose.  I had assumed they were going to use trained display pilots.

I think there is a big difference in the red arrows flying in formation, like they train to do so every week. But with low clouds and strongish winds, pilots of the UK and US don't train to fly  F-35 stealth jets in a tight formation. Not that they can't but the risks clearly stopped such a happening on the day
